The Beggining of kush
In around 2000 B.C. a group of cattle herders arrived near Egypt to the south. They expanded and grew into a civilization called Nubia. The strong Nubian villages started to take over other weak villages and formed the kingdom of Kerma. Around 1400 B.C. Egyptian armies invaded Kerma and ruled it for 700 years. The Nubians adopted some Egyptian customs and even created their own alphabet based off the Egyptian language. Egypt began to become weak and unable to govern it's people, and the Nubians were able to break away from Egyptian rule, and aroun 850 B.C. they formed an independent kingdom called Kush

Social classes
The kushites social classes worked kind of like the Egyptian social class pyramid. The people at the top were supported by the people on the bottom. At the top was the Pharaoh. The Pharaoh's job was to keep in contact with gods by performing rituals and sacrifices. He also was in charge of all the other citizens and making sure they get the job done.Under the Pharaoh were the Vizers. Their job was to serve the Pharaoh and make sure he was happy.Below the Vizers were the High priests and nobles. The priests helped the Pharaoh perform rituals and sacrifices. They also talked to the gods and did their bidding. The nobles didn't do much,They were just very rich.Under them were the officials and scribes. The officials helped the Pharaoh with political responsibilities such as taxes and food distribution. The scribes recorded all the food bartering and kept the important records. They also recorded legends and stories.Below them were the craftsmen. The craftsmen social class included armor smiths, tool smiths, artists, etc. They traded their art and tools to the Pharaoh and others for food.Under them were the slaves. The slaves were people taken from other villages when that village lost the battle. They do all the dirty work no one else will do,such as farming, caring for the animals, heavy lifting etc. They were given just barely enough food and water to survive.Since they are on the bottom they support everybody above them, so without the slaves the village would go into anarchy.
